Analyse what you hear in this extract in terms of relevent musical features (harmony, melody, rhythm, instrumentation), structural features. (form, phrases, motifs, texture), contextual features (style, time, culture, geography, history)

This music sounds like it comes from the Caribbean perhaps from Jamaica. Elements that make this piece sound as though it could be from this area are the steal drums and the accent of the vocalist. There are different types of instrumentation used in this piece: percussive, wind maybe flutes, string like bass and guitar, brass like trumpets and tuned percussive perhaps a marimba and steal drums.
The rhythm of the piece is syncopated and the bass follows the beat of the bass drum; very closely. The bass plays the pieces main melody and the guitar plays a separate melody over the top of that. The wind instruments, brass instruments and tuned percussive instruments all join in on the chorus. The vocalist sings on top of these about different people he has seen around.
The texture of this piece is polyphonic and sounds quite joyous as it is in a major key. The piece is written in simple quadruple timing.
